Releases to KDOC District 13
McLean County belongs to Kentucky Department of Corrections Probation and Parole District 13. The district covers McLean, Crittenden, Daviess, Hancock, Henderson, Muhlenberg, Ohio, Union, and Webster counties. Its main office is in Owensboro. It also lists satellite offices in Greenville, Henderson, and Morganfield. This is a nine-county administrative system, not a McLean detention building.
A person can leave prison or a host jail and appear at a Probation and Parole district in KOOL. That change can reflect parole, probation, shock probation, mandatory reentry supervision, or another community correctional status. Physical custody has ended, but correctional authority may remain. The release record should identify when confinement ended. KOOL, the court order, Board record, and District 13 then explain what followed.
Confirm McLean District 13 Supervision
KOOL is the official public starting point for Kentucky state custody and supervision. Search with limited criteria, such as a last name and first initial, and compare identifiers before opening a detail. A short county booking may never appear because KOOL is not a county-jail archive.
- Open Kentucky Online Offender Lookup and search by name, alias, or PID/DOC number.
- Read the exact status, supervision begin and end dates, and district location.
- Check the McLean court file for probation, shock probation, revocation, satisfaction, or discharge.
- For parole, use person-specific Parole Information where available and obtain the Board decision sheet when needed.
- Contact District 13 if the entry is recent, unclear, or conflicts with another official record.
KDOC says KOOL receives daily updates, though newer-than-120-day information may not be finalized. A planned supervision end can change. Record the check date and do not turn a projection into proof of termination.

About McLean District 13
District 13 is part of KDOC’s Division of Probation and Parole. It supervises people in the community; it does not hold inmates behind a McLean County jail roster. The county’s own jail is closed, and local confinement is outsourced. A person can therefore pass from an out-of-county host jail or a state institution into District 13 supervision.
The custody trail must follow those handoffs. A host jail records local departure. KOOL records state custody or supervision. A court supplies a probation or shock-probation order. The Parole Board supplies its parole decision. District 13 administers the assigned community status. None of those sources should be used as a substitute for the others.

McLean District 13 Office Labels
KOOL may identify “District 13 - Owensboro” or comparable office wording. Owensboro is the main administrative office for a nine-county area. That label does not prove the person lives in Owensboro or Daviess County. It also does not show where every meeting occurs.
Report the label exactly and state what it establishes: an assigned supervising district on the date checked. Use a controlling document for legal status. If the record is unclear, District 13 can identify the proper office. Avoid turning an office location into a claim about personal movements or current physical location.
McLean Parole and Probation Differences
Parole and probation are not interchangeable. Parole follows a Board decision that permits conditional community release from a prison sentence. Probation comes from a court judgment. Both may be supervised by the same KDOC division, but the authority, records, and route to discharge differ.

Mandatory reentry supervision under KRS 439.3406 can generally begin six months before projected completion for eligible people not granted discretionary parole, subject to exceptions. It ends confinement, not all correctional control.
McLean Absconder Status Checks
KOOL Advanced Search includes escape or abscond date fields, and an individual detail may show an absconded flag. An absconder status indicates a supervision compliance or location issue. It does not prove a new conviction or establish a live physical location.
The McLean Sheriff also maintains an official Wanted page. A county warrant list and a KDOC abscond flag are different channels. No verified standalone statewide current parole-absconder list was found. Confirm an active warrant with law enforcement, the court, District 13, or the Parole Board, based on the source of the status.

A resource listing is not evidence that a named person is supervised. It also does not guarantee that a person qualifies for a service. Verify correctional status through KOOL or the controlling record, then ask the provider about current eligibility, availability, and service boundaries.
McLean District 13 Discharge
Final discharge is distinct from release and from a scheduled supervision end. Kentucky Parole Board policy recognizes different maximum-expiration and restitution circumstances. Some parole cases do not terminate automatically in the same manner. Revocation, extension, correction, or early discharge can also change a projected date.
For probation, obtain the court’s discharge or satisfaction entry and compare it with KOOL. For parole, use KOOL, a Board decision or discharge document, and District 13 when needed. McLean’s Split Release Trail
McLean has the Kentucky-specific jailer-without-a-jail structure. KOOL labels the county jail closed, the county still publishes an elected jailer, and the jail budget pays for contracts with other counties. That split explains why a person may have a host-jail release record, a McLean court order, and a District 13 supervision record.
No single page should collapse those records into one event. Start with the host release sheet for physical departure. Use the court or Board document for authority. Use KOOL and District 13 for the state status that followed. This sequence preserves the difference between leaving a facility and leaving correctional control.
